About Our Program
Our Recreational Soccer Program is designed to teach players the fundamentals of soccer in a safe, fun and learning environment. We focus on skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. We offer recreational soccer in the Spring and Fall outdoor seasons for ages 4 through 8th Grade.

About Us
A recreational soccer league was started in Murphysboro in the fall of 2011, enrolling 206 children, under the name of Murphysboro Soccer, Inc. (MSI). Enrollment has grown quickly and recent registration numbers have increased to approximately 230 – 300 children between the ages of Pre-k and 8th grade. Each season children from throughout southern Illinois continue to join. In 2016, a Varsity Boys and Girls Team was added to Murphysboro High School.
Unlike many nearby soccer leagues, Murphysboro Soccer Inc. is not funded or operated through local government or parks. Funding comes from private donations, various fundraising, player fees, grants through a local foundation, as well as continued donations from one of our local banks.
Murphysboro Soccer Inc. has become one of the most successful youth soccer programs in our region. Our continued goal is the development of quality young athletes, fitness, sportsmanship and a love for the game of soccer. Without the support of our volunteers, coaches and board members the Mission Statement of MSI would not be possible.
